I’m Dr. Daniela Owen. Psychologist & Children’s Book Author
My work with children, adolescents, and their families focuses on evidence based practices, including CBT, Mindfulness, Compassion, and ACT.

CBT
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on identifying unhelpful thoughts and actions that result in negative mood states and learning new ways of thinking and acting to help improve mood, anxiety, worry, and stress.

Mindfulness
Mindfulness focuses on non-judgmental observation of moods, thoughts, and actions and helps refocus attention on the present moment.

Compassion
Compassion focuses on activating the self-soothing system to respond with kindness and caring to negative mood states and negative automatic thoughts.

ACT
Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) focuses on being able to accept and tolerate unpleasant thoughts and feelings and to separate those thoughts and feelings from who we are.
